Art+Science
Experiment with blending art and science!
Sunday 9am-12pm | Ages 9-18
Art + Science explores creative processes at the intersection of art and science, encouraging students to think across both disciplines. Through hands-on workshops, students will engage with assemblage and sculptural techniques, electronic circuits, D.I.Y. sound modules, the chemistry of natural and synthetic pigments.
In this class, we will make simple kinetic sculptures using easily sourced materials like paper clips, sculpting wire, buttons, beads, and natural materials like rocks, petals, and sweetgum ball seeds. Students will learn how to assemble materials into sculptures, explore creative uses of natural and everyday objects, and gain a basic understanding of how motors can bring movement to the work.
